  • Long reining and driving the pony from the ground.
  • Train the pony to pull equipment, logs etc.
  • Train the pony to carry unusual objects and how to attach them to the pony.
  • Trouble shoot ideas if things start to go ‘wrong’
The course includes: Two full days of hands on instruction.
  • Use of our ponies although speak to us if you would like to bring your own.

Please note we are not teaching cart or carriage driving on this course, all work is done from the ground.

These courses are run in thirty acres of fabulous Devon countryside in a converted barn overlooking beautiful farmland. The horse paddocks adjoin thousands of acres of forestry and from them you can see both Exmoor and Dartmoor.

Each day starts at 9.00am in the 'classroom' moving out to study the herds of horses, as we need to, breaking for lunch at around 1.00pm please supply your own lunch. Tea coffee, biscuits etc are freely available all day.

We resume at about 2.00pm to finish at 5.00pm. As the courses are run over a weekend we will send you a list of accommodation ranging from campsites to luxury hotels - you take your pick! The work with the horses takes place outside so suitable clothing for the weather and safety is required including a B.S. standard hard hat and safety boots, gloves are useful too.
